The L.A. County District Attorney has filed legal documents asking that Chris  Brown's probation be REVOKED, but it doesn't have anything to do with his dust-up with Frank Ocean.  Not directly, at least.

The D.A. believes Chris submitted BOGUS community service records.  Chris was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service in Virginia . . . after he pleaded guilty to beating the crap out of Rihanna.

Last September, the local police chief sent in documentation showing that Chris finished 202 days of community service, when he was only required to do 180.  But the paperwork was suspicious.

The D.A.'s office says it contains "numerous discrepancies," and that Chris was "essentially unsupervised."  They sent investigators to Virginia to verify that Chris HAD done the work . . . and they couldn't confirm it. Someone from the D.A.'s office says, quote, "This inquiry provided no credible, competent or verifiable evidence that defendant Brown performed his community labor as presented to this court . . .

"The records submitted are at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting."

The D.A. is also saying Chris has had other possible probation violations, including the parking lot fight with Frank Ocean . . . testing positive for pot . . . allegedly grabbing and throwing a fan's phone in Miami last year . . . and throwing a chair through a window at "Good Morning America".

Prosecutors will attend a hearing today, where they will recommend that Chris' probation be revoked, and that he be forced to repeat his community service in L.A.
