Listen to Chris Brown on iHeartRadio

Chris Brown is in hot water after allegedly smoking marijuana onstage during a concert in Ghana last week.  Footage of the concert shows Brown onstage puffing what looks to be a marijuana cigarette while bragging about smoking.

Now, some groups in the West African nation are calling for Brown to be prosecuted for his actions.  Ghanaian youth activist Jonathan Ose-Owusu tells Radio.com Brown was encouraging young people to light up.  He says the video proves that Brown "promoted an illegality."

Jonathan points out that there are many people in Ghana who have been locked up for doing the very same thing.  His group - Perfector of Sentiments - has already taken action by drawing up a petition that calls on high profile figures in Ghana, including the U.S. Ambassador, to take action against the embattled singer.

Jonathan also claims he's teamed up with local police to investigate the incident.  He says authorities have "moved swiftly" and are not leaving anything unturned.  If the law does catch up with Brown, Jonathan hopes he will face "the full rigors of the law."

Meanwhile, event organizers says the whole incident was simply a stunt and that Brown was not smoking any illegal substances.
